Dr. Holm wants to deliver the best and most up-to-date medical and surgical eye care possible and to maintain a personal and kind attitude in the process. Dr. Holm believes in continuing his own education to continue to provide the best care to his patients.

Dr. Peter Holm received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and completed his residency in Ophthalmology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology.  He has been involved in the local medical community as President of the County Medical Society in 1985-1986, the President of the Medical Staff of St. Josephs Hospital in 1993-94, and later as the head of the credentials committee.He was the President of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Department  of Ophthalmology Alumni Association from 2007-2010.  He is currently a Board member of Combat Blindness International.  He will soon be teaching residents at the the Division of International Ophthalmology associated with the University of Wisconsin on a part time basis.

Dr Holm has traveled to the Philippines, India, and St Lucia on surgical missions to teach and perform cataract and other eye surgeries.

Dr Holm was a reviewer on the editorial staff of the Archives of Ophthalmology, one the country’s leading Ophthalmology journals in 1996-97.

Dr Holm has been performing microsurgical surgery including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, and eye trauma repair for more than 32 years in the Chippewa Valley.  He also performs laser surgery for glaucoma, retinal tears and detachments and diabetic retinopathy.  Pediatric surgery for strabismus (crossed eyes) and eyelid surgery for droopy eyelids and lower lid bags are a  part of Dr Holm’s practice.
